Tracy Brus named 2016 REALTOR® of the Year by the Iowa Association of REALTORS®

CLIVE, IOWA (Oct. 6, 2016) – The Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR) recently announced Tracy Brus of Denison as the 2016 REALTOR® of the Year. The IAR presented the honor and other special awards at its Inaugural Gala held recently in Coralville.

Tracy Brus has been in the real estate industry for 30 years. Se worked as administrative staff in a real estate office prior to getting her license. She received her real estate license in 1987 and started volunteering for the local board in the early 1990s. At that time it was the Tri-County Board of REALTORS. She has been with Denison Realty since 1993. Tracy was actively involved in the leadership of two significant consolidations with the local real estate board. She is the current President-Elect of the West Central Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS®. She has served as President of the board multiple times.

Tracy has served at the state level in a variety of ways. She has been on almost every major IAR committee dating back to 1995, including: Legislative Committee, Communications Committee, Strategic Planning, Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. Tracy served as a Regional Vice President for several years.

Tracy is a strong believer in our legislative work and has attended the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C on multiple occasions. She will be recognized at the upcoming NAR Annual REALTOR® Conference in November.

As a lifelong resident of the Denison area, Tracy has been very involved in her community and local church. She supports many cancer events and offers individual support to people that have incurred this horrible disease. She has sung in the church choir since high school. She has been a volunteer for several Denison Chamber events. She spends her free time doing yoga, reading, sharing good wine with her girlfriends, and travelling with Todd, her husband of 34 years. She also enjoys scrapbooking and sewing. She loves spending time with her son Jake, his wife Miranda and her granddaughter Hattie.#
