IAR Legislative Bus-In day a Success!
On Feb. 1 the Iowa Association of REALTORS® bussed in Realtors® from across the state to go to the Capitol and talk with our Legislators about issues affecting home ownership and property rights.
Over 300 Realtors® met at Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines to have lunch and hear from Senate Majority Leader, Bill Dix; IAR Lobbyist, Jennifer Kingland; and IAR President, Cindy Miller. We went over talking points for the First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account so when we spoke with our representatives, we had facts to back the importance of the legislation.
We had a great day at the Capitol! Most of our groups were able to speak to the majority of their legislators. Our talking points focused on the positive economic impact the First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account would provide to the Iowa Economy. Read the talking points here.
After the Hill visits, Realtors® and legislators made their way down to the Embassy Suites for an evening reception.

We hope to have updates on the First-Time Homebuyers Savings Account soon!
