Dear Iowa REALTORS® -

April is recognized as Fair Housing Month; a time when REALTORS® work together to raise awareness of unfair and unjust practices that may prevent individuals from achieving the dream of homeownership.

Even though the month is coming to a close, we know that our work is not complete.

Today, we continue our dedication to fair housing with a statement from the Iowa REALTORS® Leadership Team that reaffirms our organization's beliefs:

While state and federal laws may change over time, the values and principles of an Iowa REALTOR® are not diminished.

In the face of upcoming changes to the Iowa Civil Rights Act, Iowa REALTORS® reaffirms its commitment to creating fair and equitable housing opportunities for every Iowan.

Iowa REALTORS® and its members continue to adhere to a strong Code of Ethics that prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Our commitment is ongoing, and our mission is clear—to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to feel welcome, represented, and respected in the home buying and selling process in Iowa.

Travis Bushaw

Iowa REALTORS® President, 2025
