Insurance Options for Iowa Realtors®
Iowa REALTORS® understands how difficult it can be for REALTORS® to locate affordable health insurance plans. Therefore, we have partnered with Patton Insurance Benefits to assist our members in their search for the right health insurance plan at the right price. Patton Insurance Benefits has also put together a specialized Group Dental and Vision Insurance program for IAR members with Delta Dental of Iowa. Life Insurance is also offered through The Cincinnati Insurance Companies.
Health Insurance
Group health insurance for groups down to one employee:
- Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield - Wellmark will allow a group plan if you are a W2 employee of your own S Corp or LLC doing taxes as an S Corp.
- Medical Associates (Select Eastern & Central Iowa Counties) - Medical Associates is headquartered in Dubuque and offers a group health plan that uses a Mercy Only network in select areas of the state. Medical Associates will allow Sole-Proprietors, Partnerships, LLC’s and Corporations to apply with correct tax documents.
INDIVIDUAL HEALTH INSURANCE UNDER 65:
- Healthcare Marketplace at Healthcare.gov - We use your estimated taxable income for the upcoming year to see if you qualify for any tax subsidy. Wellmark BC/BS has plans available that use the statewide HMO network. Medica has plans available that use a UnityPoint network. These plans are guaranteed issue with no health questions.
- Short-Term Medical - UnitedHealthOne as a short-term policy does not follow the Affordable Care Act rules. You will have to complete medical underwriting for these plans. Please note this style of coverage does not cover pre-existing conditions for the first 12 months.
Medicare/Over 65:
- Medicare Supplements - These plans can be quoted throughout the year.
- Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) - These plans can be quoted if you are new to Medicare or during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) October 15th - December 7th.
- Medicare Advantage (Part C) - These plans can be quoted if you are new to Medicare or during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) October 15th - December 7th.
Dental Insurance
Iowa REALTORS® (IAR) is pleased to present an association dental plan for our membership. These dental plans were designed by Delta Dental of Iowa exclusively for IAR members.
Highlights:
- No waiting periods on benefits.
- Level one benefits in the Delta PPO network and level two benefits in the Delta Premier network, giving you a comprehensive network of dentists.
- No underwriting is required.
- *Deductible is waived for diagnostic and preventive services.

- Annual maximum benefit of $2,000.
- Per Person Deductible: $25* PPO Dentist / $100* Premier Dentist
- Level One PPO Benefits: Preventive, Routine, Major: 100%/80%/50%

Vision Insurance
Iowa REALTORS® is pleased to present an association vision plan for our membership. This vision plan was designed by Delta Dental of Iowa exclusively for IAR members.

- $10 copay for Vision Exam (every 12 months)
- $150 allowance on Frames (every 12 months)
- $25 copay for Standard Plastic Lens (every 12 months)

- Access to the EyeMed Vision Care network, a nationwide network.
- Lasik & PRK Benefit of 15% off retail price or 5% off promotional price
- No underwriting is required.

Life Insurance
As a member of Iowa REALTORS® you now have the opportunity to purchase individual life insurance simplified issue:
- up to $100,000 for ages 18-50
- up to $75,000 for ages 51-60
- up to $25,000 for ages 61-70
No Medical Examination required.
This plan gives you a lifetime of protection as you have the option to purchase a Level 20 Year Term or Level 10 Year Term policy, a Whole Life Insurance plan or a Term 20 Return of Premium policy. You also have the opportunity to purchase coverage for your spouse and/or children. The offer is through Cincinnati Life Insurance, which has a high financial strength rating of A+ from A.M. Best, Fitch and Standard & Poor’s.
You own your policy; therefore, you may continue your coverage at the same premium, even if you leave real estate or retire.
