Leadership Opportunities
Leadership at Iowa REALTORS®
The Iowa REALTORS® Leadership Team provides strategic guidance and direction for the Association, ensuring member voices are represented at the highest level.
Working closely with the Board of Directors and staff, the Leadership Team helps set priorities, guide policy, and advance initiatives that support REALTORS® and the real estate industry across Iowa. Their leadership strengthens the Association, supports members statewide, and helps shape the future of real estate in Iowa.

Leadership Team and Ambassadors
Applications for candidates wishing to run for IR Leadership (Second Vice-President, Treasurer and Ambassador) MUST submit an application no later than 11:59 p.m. on March 1 each year.
The positions of President, President-Elect, and First Vice-President follow an affirmed succession and do not need to reapply for leadership team each year. Each term for leadership positions is one year. Ambassadors serve a two year term, and two will be selected in staggered years with the first application cycle beginning in 2025.
Applications will be reviewed and those approved candidates will be notified. All approved candidates will be voted on and elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors at Summer Meetings.
Second Vice President
The Second Vice President plays a key leadership role within Iowa REALTORS®, supporting the President and the Leadership Team while gaining broad exposure to the Association’s work. This position assists the President with assigned duties and is prepared to step in for the President, President-Elect, or First Vice President when needed. The term of office is one year, beginning January 1.
The Second Vice President may attend all Iowa REALTORS® committees, serving in a non-voting capacity unless already appointed to a voting role. The position also automatically serves as vice chair of the Finance Committee and as a voting member of the Legislative and Professional Development Committees.
At the national level, the Second Vice President represents Iowa REALTORS® by participating in key National Association of REALTORS® and Region 8 meetings and events. As part of the Leadership Team, this role helps shape the Association’s strategic direction, supports member services, develops future volunteer leaders, and maintains a visible leadership presence at state, national, and local events.

Treasurer

The Iowa REALTORS® Treasurer plays a vital role in supporting the Association’s leadership and financial stewardship. Serving a two-year term beginning January 1, the Treasurer assists helps ensure the organization’s resources are managed responsibly.
The Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Treasurer works closely with the Board of Directors and CEO to help guide the Association’s strategic direction, support member services, develop future leaders, and promote political awareness and fundraising efforts.
The Treasurer also represents Iowa REALTORS® at key National Association of REALTORS® and Region 8 meetings and events.
Ambassadors
Iowa REALTORS® Ambassadors serve as liaisons between the state association, local boards, and members, helping strengthen communication and collaboration statewide. Organized into four focus areas, Organization, Advocacy, Legal/Risk Management, and Member Engagement, each Ambassador supports committees and initiatives within their assigned category.
Ambassadors work closely with local board leadership, executive officers, and brokers to advance Iowa REALTORS® priorities, share feedback with the Leadership Team, and serve as champions for RPAC through fundraising, education, and brokerage outreach. They are voting members of applicable committees and the Board of Directors and are part of the extended Leadership Team.
Ambassadors serve a two-year term, with up to three consecutive terms allowed, and are appointed to their focus area by the Leadership Team.
